Brave New World Book Review

Who hasn’t pictured a Utopia in their heads before, a perfect world? It’s most likely that several of us have in some point of our lives. We all want a perfect world. It might be different in my eyes the way you picture it but it would be perfect for you. That’s the way Aldous Huxley pictured his world in his book Brave New World.
The way it starts is crazy! Almost in a language I couldn’t even understand. The mood of the story is gloomy, dark, and scary. Even though this is supposed to be the “Perfect World” it gives you a feeling that would make you want to think the world you live in right now is perfect.
Well let me give you background info on it. Kids who have sex games, people who are created from one cell, and when they sleep they have a recorded message telling them how good it is to be an Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, or an Epsilon. That is what the characters such as Lenina think of as a perfect world.
Lenina is what we would call an ordinary citizen who, in that world it is okay to have sexual relationships with everyone as long as they take their “birth control pills”.  Bernard, well he is an outcast in that society, a normal guy in ours. This book makes you think if we actually need the perfect society, I think we are perfect just the way we are. This book just reassures me I love this world. I am really glad I read this book, just to make sure I won’t  change my mind any time soon.

Oh the Irony... in BNW

An ironic part in my point of view in "Brave New World" is when Bernard and Lenina are in the helicopter watching the sunset and well, Lenina wants to get it on while Bernard wants to keep on watching the sunset.

Bernard is the one in our world now to be the one who thinks that sunsets are too girly and wants to go have fun, while Lenina is supposed to be the one who thinks that watching the sunset is really sweet/romantic.

Movie Review

Takers Woah, what a mindblowing movie! It's somewhat of an Ocean's Eleven movie with that of a bank robbery movie! With a cast full of young entertaining actors, this movie is for sure to  be a hit. I have read bad movie reviews about this, let me tell you those people do not know what they are talking about.

After pulling off an amazing series of entertaining bank robberies, an infamous team of pro criminals attempts a once in a life time opportunity for a pay-off of $25 million dollars. Everything is perfect except for a rib poking detective who will do everything possible to take the TAKERS down. Also don't trust old friends...

Myself as a Baby

This snapshot of my cousin and I well, doesn't bring back memories because of course i was really small. what does come to mind is how life would have been  if I would have stayed in Mexico. "How would school have been?" I wonder. So many questions. I can only imagine. I picture it like how my cousins back in Mexico tell me about it. I don't believe I would have had the same opportunities I have here in the States.

The cousin in the photograph is my all-timje favorite cousin. He actually lives here nearby in Lenexa. I can trust him with everything, and looking at the picture shows how long we have been close!

Also, looking at the background makes me realize how different it is. I can just imagine.

Oh I'm the one with the crazy hair! Haha...

POW #2: Satire Example

The author [me] is making fun of how much of an impact hispanics have here in the United States and how it would be for us to just plain out... leave. The hispanics just take the jobs no one really wants so I never understand when people say "They are taking our jobs". Next time just be quicker and maybe you'll beat us to it [job].

I am trying to use irony and sarcasm.
Ironic because hispanics aren't all going to leave or be taken out. They are just too darn many! Lol. Also sarcasm because there's 'voices' in the background asking "Who's going to build my house..." and also the discriminatory people who always want us out.

The cartoonist is trying to say that even though hispanics aren't needed they actually do make an impact.

My name has no relevance to Suri Cruise

So every time I intoduce myself or meet new people, of course i have to say my name. Not until 3 or maybe four years ago did i have to hesitate to say my name. "what is my name?", you might  be wondering. well my name is Suri and no im not a female.

Yes, the first thought that came to mind was "Oh like 'Suri Cruise", right? After that will come this thought, "Isn't she a girl?". well you are correct. She is. I am not. I am a 17 year old male who just happens to have a boy version of that name.

This would have to be the hardest part of the blog right here... Suri is actually short for a longer name, so technically my name isn't actually Suri.

Born Lino Suriel Hernandez in Veracruz Mexico. I have never ever said that before. No one other than my immediate family knows that fact about me. I completely dislike that name. And well, my parents just called me Suri since a very young age so that one is the one that stuck on to me. Suriel actually is from the Bible and i believe it means "Command of God".

There you guys have it. It is'nt just Suri it's Suriel.

Sincerely
Suri Hernandez :)
